George Russell returns to the Yas Marina Circuit in Abu Dhabi with ROKiT Williams Racing to contest the final Grand Prix of the 2019 Formula One season.

After recording his second-highest finish of the season in Brazil last time out, George is buoyant as he returns to the United Arab Emirates for the 21st and final race of the 2019 campaign.

The 5.554km-long venue holds many special memories for George as the site where the Briton sealed the 2019 FIA Formula Two Championship title, taking victory in the Feature Race over points rival Alexander Albon.

Featuring 21 corners, the Yas Marina Circuit is a technical and complex venue, with a blend of low, medium and high-speed corners making car set-up tricky while high temperatures place extra demand on the tyres.

Unique to the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix is it’s twilight conditions, with drivers racing into the night as the sun sets on Yas Island.

George Russell - ROKiT Williams Racing Driver

“I’ve got mixed feelings as it is going to be sad to do the last race of the year, but I’m also excited to get back out to the warm weather of Abu Dhabi.
I have good memories there as winning the FIA Formula Two Championship last year was a really special feeling, and something I will remember for a long time to come.”

With the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix marking the final race of the 2019 season, George and ROKiT Williams Racing’s preparations will continue as both parties ready for 2020.
