George ‘raring to go’ in Spa
Formula One returns for the second half of the 2021 season and the second triple-header of the year, kicking off with the Belgium Grand Prix.
At 7km long, Spa Francorchamps is the longest track on the calendar. With a mixture of long straights and fast corners including the iconic Eau Rouge segment, the Belgium circuit is also one of the most popular tracks with drivers and fans alike.
The Belgium circuit is comprised of 19 corners and two DRS zones. However, due to the sheer length of the circuit, the weather is often unpredictable with rain in one section and sun in the rest, adding a level of uncertainty for all the drivers.
George Russell – Williams Racing Driver
“The summer shutdown was great but even after one week off, I was raring to go again. After a strong points haul for the team in Budapest, we are entering the second half of the season in great spirits. We are now focused on delivering the best possible performance at Spa this weekend, and the rest of this triple-header, with our aim being to increase our points tally.”
FP1 for the Belgium Grand Prix will begin at 10:30am BST on Friday August 27.
