George Russell is fully prepared for his on-track debut at the Circuit of the Americas this weekend as the British racer competes in the 19th round of the 2019 Formula One season.

Following a weekend of continual improvement for ROKiT Williams Racing in Mexico, George and the team head to Austin, Texas for the United States Grand Prix as the 2019 campaign begins to reach its climax with only three races remaining.

Despite visiting Austin in the past, this weekend will mark George’s first on-track experience of the 5.513km-long Circuit of the Americas in a Formula One car.

Formed by a blend of low, medium and high-speed corners, the Hermann Tilke-designed track is difficult to master, with a finely tuned car setup being a major requirement to secure the optimum lap time.

George Russell - ROKiT Williams Racing Driver

“Austin is a track and a race that I have been looking forward to for a very long time. Out of the newer circuits it is definitely the best one out there, it has such an amazing flow to it. It is a track similar to Silverstone, with an incredibly fun first sector. I have been there the last two years and it was always a great atmosphere, so I am really looking forward to it.”

Handing the reigns of his ROKiT Williams Racing FW42 to Nicholas Latifi for FP1, George will make his debut on the circuit in the second practice session of the weekend as both him and team-mate Robert Kubica face a new venue to master.
