George Russell is excited to return to the Autodromo Jose Carlos Pace in Sao Paulo, Brazil, as the British driver contests the penultimate race of the 2019 Formula One season.

Following extensive tyre overheating at the United States Grand Prix in Austin, Texas, George and his ROKiT Williams Racing team head to South America for the 20th round of the 2019 season.

Despite making his debut in the top flight of motorsport earlier this year, George already has experience behind the wheel of a Formula One car at the Autodromo Jose Carlos Pace, driving in FP1 in the 2017 edition of the event.

Formed by 15 corners, the Autodromo Jose Carlos Pace is one of the shorter circuits on the 2019 calendar at only 4.309km long. Nevertheless, this track is by no means easy to master, with its anti-clockwise layout and banked corners making it a tricky challenge for drivers.

“The 2017 race weekend here in Brazil was the first one I took part in, driving in FP1, so I have fond memories of the place. It is a really great circuit with a lot of character, and one that I am looking forward to driving again.”

With ROKiT Williams Racing set to trail new components throughout the weekend, George’s preparations for 2020 continue as the 2019 campaign begins to reach its conclusion.
