George ends Friday in P17 as Formula 1 returns to Paul Ricard for the French Grand Prix.

George did not take part in FP1 in France as Williams Racing development driver Roy Nissany took his place in the morning session.

The British driver was back behind the wheel of his FW43-B for the afternoon FP2 sessions and wasted no time getting reacquainted with the French circuit.

Despite missing out on the morning session, George was able to put in 25 laps of the 5.8km, delivering a 1:35.266 lap time to end the session in P17 ahead of his Williams Racing teammate Nicholas Latifi.

George Russell – Williams Racing Driver

“It’s always tricky only doing one session, but I don’t feel like I missed out on too much as the conditions were difficult this morning and there were a few errors on track which showed how gusty it was. In FP2 my high fuel runs looked strong and I got into a good groove putting in those laps, but I think there’s still more to come from me with low fuel. We’ll go away tonight and look to understand how we can extract more out of the car.”

George will be back on track for FP3 on Saturday June 19 from 11am BST.
