George finishes Friday in P15 as Formula One returns to the Hungaroring for the Hungarian Grand Prix.

George began the sweltering morning session on a set of Medium Pirelli tyres but, 15 minutes into the session, opted to switch to a set of Hards, moving him into P13.

An incident for Alpha Tauri’s Yuki Tsunoda brought out a brief red flag, halting the session and bringing everyone back into the pits.

By the end of the session, the British driver had put in 24 laps of the 4.3km circuit, setting his best lap of 1:19.724 to finish the morning in P15.

In FP2, George wasted no time heading out onto the boiling Hungaroring track as he acclimatised to the soaring track temperatures.

The Brit amassed an impressive 29 laps of the Hungarian circuit, delivering his best lap time of 1:19.292 to end the day in P15.

George Russell – Williams Racing Driver

“It was very hot out there and overall, it was a good day. We were not quite as quick as I had hoped but, having said that, it’s only Friday. We’re in a good position for Qualifying and also for the race. It is so difficult to overtake here and if conditions stay the same, with the track temperature being very hot, then it will be a difficult race for everyone, so we are definitely keeping an eye on Sunday.”

George will be back on track for FP3 on Saturday July 31 from 11:00am BST.
