George Russell completed extensive running for ROKiT Williams Racing at Formula One’s official post-season tyre test at the Yas Marina Circuit in Abu Dhabi.

After showcasing positive pace in the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix to complete his maiden season in Formula One, George once more took to the state-of-the-art venue situated on Yas Island to test Pirelli’s 2020 tyres.

With each Formula One team holding 10 sets of tyres for each day of running, George completed a series of comparison runs on a number of Pirelli’s proposed 2020 compounds, using the supplier’s 2019 tyres as a baseline.

Experiencing a clean morning without disruption, George completed 87 laps and the bulk of ROKiT Williams Racing’s running over the course of the day to secure the ninth-fastest time - a 1:40.368.

“It was a productive day in the car. We ran five sets of 2020 tyres and gathered some useful information, which will benefit us next season. I am looking forward to Australia and going racing again.”

Completing his tyre testing programme with Williams to gain invaluable experience in preparation for 2020, George will continue his running on Thursday where he will test with six-time Formula One World Champions Mercedes, driving the team’s F1 W10 EQ Power+ package.
