George takes P3 and his second podium finish of the year in the Spanish Grand Prix.

Under the scorching Spanish sun, George lined up on the grid on the Soft Pirelli tyres in P4 as he prepared to hunt down a podium position.

As the lights went out, George made a lightning getaway, sweeping past the Ferrari of Carlos Sainz Jr. into P3 with Sergio Perez trying to chase down the Brit.

Despite early contact between George and Perez on the opening lap of the 66-lap race, George maintained his position until lap six when Max Verstappen ran off at Turn Four, moving George up into P2.

Pitting on lap 14, George switched to the Medium tyres and re-emerged in P4 before swiftly regaining P3 with Verstappen swarming all over his rear.

On lap 24, Verstappen made a dive down the inside into Turn One but George quickly snatched the position back from the Dutchman, sliding back down his inside into Turn Two before going on the defensive to keep the place.

A mechanical issue for Charles Leclerc forced the race leader into the pits and out of the race, moving George into the race lead.

Unfortunately, the race lead was short-lived and Perez on newer tyres swept past George going into Turn One.

Making his second stop on lap 37, George changed onto another set of Medium tyres to re-join in P3.

As the laps ticked down, George was unable to bridge the gap to the Red Bulls ahead and, with 15 laps remaining, the Brit pitted for Soft tyres to give it one final push.

Despite re-emerging behind Valtteri Bottas in P4, George quickly made his way past the Finnish driver and back into the podium places.

George maintained his position for the remainder of the race to take the chequered flag in P3 and his second podium finish of the season.

Today was super tough! I'm just so proud to be standing here on the podium and bring it home for the team. The guys have worked so hard, so this result is for everyone back in Brackley and Brixworth who've worked tirelessly, thank you! I gave it everything I could to hold Max off, they were some enjoyable laps! With the Red Bulls in my mirrors, I was trying to get absolutely everything out of the car to keep them behind. It was very difficult last few laps, a real survival race when we knew we had the gap to manage.
Thanks to all the fans out here in Barcelona - they've been amazing all weekend! The support for Formula 1 at the moment is in a great place, so it's great to be here.
